The new Supreme Court family rules help litigants who do not have a lawyer by simplifying court procedures. If you do not have a lawyer for your Supreme Court family law matter, a number of websites are available to help you understand the new rules and forms.
In addition to the resources found on this website, the Legal Services Society’s “Family Law in British Columbia” website has published guides and fact sheets about the new family rules.
The Justice Education Society also created SupremeCourtBC, where you will find a variety of multimedia and other resources, including information about Supreme Court family claims.
The Supreme Court of British Columbia website has information for litigants who do not have lawyers, as well as links to the new family rules, forms and fees.
You may also want to try Clicklaw, a website that provides user friendly, searchable access to key legal information, education and help for British Columbians. Clicklaw can help you find answers to your family law questions. To find legal services in your community, be sure to search Clicklaw’s HelpMap.
