The Administrative Justice Office
The Administrative Justice Office (AJO) researches, reports and, where appropriate, leads reform initiatives to ensure that British Columbia's administrative justice system provides an effective alternative to the courts to resolve disputes.
The AJO was established to support and continue the first ever system-wide review of B.C.'s administrative justice system, which began in 2001.
The AJO works for and with:
- the members of the public who look to the administrative justice system for alternative dispute resolution, regulatory policy and other decisions,
- B.C.'s independent administrative tribunals that resolve those disputes, implement policy and make decisions,
- the provincial ministries that legislatively support and fund B.C.'s administrative tribunals, and
- the lawyers, both within government and in private practice, who appear before or advise administrative tribunals.
