Legal Advice

At the Vancouver Justice Access Centre, we can give legal advice about a range of family law issues. Some eligibility guidelines apply for these options. We may be able to advise you about:

  • separation and divorce;
  • custody and access; and
  • child or spousal support.

You may also be able to receive legal advice related to these civil law issues:

  • income security;
  • housing (rental and owned);
  • employment;
  • debt or money;
  • immigration and refugee;
  • human rights;
  • consumer issues; or
  • wills and estates.

Our advice may include providing you with information about your rights, obligations and legal options and advice about your own situation. We may be able to help with negotiations, review agreements, prepare court forms and other documents and explain how to represent yourself in court.

If this is a service from which you might benefit, call or drop in to the justice access centre for an assessment of your issue and for possible referral to an onsite civil law clinic. You can also learn about some of the other services the centre offers which may assist you.
