2010 Judges Compensation Commission
The 2010 Judges Compensation Commission appointed under the Judicial Compensation Act has concluded and government has now responded to the report.
The commission's members were as follows:
- George Morfitt (chair)
- Geoffrey Cowper, QC
- Robin McFee, QC
- Brian Kenning
- John Dustan
The commission held hearings with representatives of the parties on June 21, 22 and 25, 2010 at the Robson St. courthouse in Vancouver. Interested members of the public were also invited to email submissions.
The commission received submissions from government, Provincial Court judges and other interested parties before making recommendations to the attorney general and the chief judge of the Provincial Court. The commission's final report was delivered to the attorney general and the chief judge on Sept. 20, 2010. The report was tabled in the legislative assembly May 3, 2011 and government responded May 25, 2011.
