Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is British Columbia’s superior trial court.  Its jurisdiction includes all civil disputes, subject to limitations set out by provincial or federal legislation.

It may hear cases of any amount, although claimants disputing matters of $25,000 or less over a matter falling within the jurisdiction of the small claims court are encouraged to use the small claims court

The Supreme Court also hears probate and estate administration applications, and appeals from other courts or tribunals.
