Judicial Practice Directions and Court Rules

Judicial practice directions and court rules provide the procedures that must be followed to successfully transmit your documents to the registry by fax for the purpose of filing.

If you are transmitting documents to the Supreme Court, you must review the:

• Supreme Court Rule 67 - Fax Filing Pilot Project Rule, and
• Supreme Court of B.C. Practice Direction re: the Fax Filing Pilot Project

If you are transmitting documents to the Provincial Court for a Family matter, you must review the:

• Provincial Court (Family) Rules (see section 5.1 re: the Fax Filing Pilot Project), and
• Provincial Court Fax Filing Pilot Project Practice Direction

If you are transmitting documents to the Provincial Court for a Small Claims matter, you must review the:

• Small Claims Rules (see section 17.1 re: the Fax Filing Pilot Project), and
• Provincial Court Fax Filing Pilot Project Practice Direction

You may also review the fax filing pilot project Provincial Court Notice to Profession, which provides direction from the Chief Judge regarding the Provincial Court practice direction and rules.

The fax filing pilot project practice directions are determined by the Supreme and Provincial Court Judiciaries and may be changed at any time, as necessary.
