Fax Filing Court Services

Welcome to the Fax Filing Pilot Project!

On February 1, 2003, Court Services Branch introduced the fax filing pilot project to test another way to deliver documents to a court registry. The project allows people involved in small claims, family and Supreme Court civil cases to fax documents to 14 court locations across the province for filing.

The fax filing pilot project has been extended to July 1, 2010 for Provincial Court. No end date has been stipulated for Supreme Court. The documents that may be transmitted to the registry by fax and the procedures for faxing remain unchanged.

The fax filing pilot project is also continuing to test credit card payment of registry service fees for documents filed by fax. And, in Prince George, people can pay fees for documents delivered to the registry by fax or in person with a BC OnLine account.

At the end of the pilot, Court Services will evaluate the use of fax filing and decide whether to continue or further expand the service. We may ask people who use the service for feedback on fax filing. The identity of these individuals will remain confidential.

The expansion of registry services is aligned with government's goal of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of services to the people of British Columbia - and is the next step on the road to electronic filing of court records.

Please see the links below for detailed information on the fax filing pilot project.
