Articled Student Program

On behalf of the Articling Student Committee of the Ministry of Attorney General, we welcome you to the Ministry's Articled Student Program web pages. These pages are designed to acquaint you with challenges and opportunities offered by the British Columbia Ministry of Attorney General Articled Student Program.

The Ministry hires articling students who have a strong interest in public service and the practice of public law. It also selects candidates who possess the academic, professional and personal qualities that will enable them to become effective public sector lawyers. The Ministry looks to its students as a key source of growth and offers them the opportunity to participate fully in providing services to its clients.

Where you choose to article is a very important decision for you. The information on these web pages about the Ministry of Attorney General and its Articled Student Program will help you decide.

For the articling period commencing in the spring of 2009, articling opportunities available within the Ministry of the Attorney General will include five positions and one additional position available for an indigenous candidate. Under the Northern and Interior Initiatives Program, additional articling positions with the Criminal Justice Branch will be available in the Northern, Southern Interior, and North Vancouver Island areas of the province. The students will work out of the offices of the Crown Counsel in those areas.

Thank you for your interest in the Ministry's Articled Student Program. We wish you well in your future endeavours.
