What pay and benefits do articling students receive?

Articled students are hired as term-certain regular employees and receive full medical and dental benefits, as well as four weeks of paid holiday leave. The salary is $47,265.20 annually and $1,811.67 bi-weekly. Articled students are also eligible to apply for the Pacific Leaders Loan Forgiveness program at: http://www.pacificleaders.gov.bc.ca/loanForgiveness.htm.


The ministry's Legal Services branch pays the Law Society of British Columbia enrolment fees - including Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) fees - for its students and continues their salary during the training course. It also pays the students' call fees at the end of articles.
