This page provides information about the administrative justice system and how tribunals, which are part of that system, conduct their work.

Who appoints the members of a tribunal?

Usually the government or entity that establishes the tribunal appoints the tribunal members. A merit-based process must be used for appointments to tribunals established by the Government of British Columbia. When a tribunal needs new members, a notice is usually posted on the Board Resourcing and Development Office website.
